Super Teachers, a wellness program for Educators.
AWAGO BUILDS TEACHERS CAPACITY so that schools can increase creativity, productivity, and decreased turnover.
Teachers are Uganda’s frontline caregivers and builders: With a rapidly growing youth population, they ensure access to quality education despite challenges such as overcrowded classrooms and limited resources. They often serve as substitute parents guiding and influencing social values and promoting gender equality. Teachers also help develop a skilled workforce, fostering entrepreneurship, innovation, and job creation that propel Uganda forward.
SUPER TEACHERS is a wellness initiative requested by the school for their teachers because:
- 58% of Uganda’s university lecturers experience moderate burnout, with 38% facing severe burnout.
- 100% of surveyed teachers in Kyenjojo District report workplace stress, affecting health & performance.
- 83% of teachers say stress impacts their job effectiveness.
